Course Description
This course is designed to efficiently prepare students for university-level English proficiency exams, specifically the Duolingo English Test (DET) and the new TOEFL. As both exams now assess integrated academic skills—reading, listening, speaking, and writing in similar formats—this course strategically incorporates materials from both tests to maximize score improvement and test readiness.
By focusing on shared skill sets, question logic, and scoring criteria, students gain transferable strategies that apply seamlessly to either exam, allowing them to confidently prepare for one or both tests within a single, unified course.
This Class Is For
-
Students preparing for Duolingo English Test or the new TOEFL for the first time, who have a solid foundation in grammar and vocabulary
-
Students with prior test experience who struggle to reach mid-to-high scores or show inconsistencies across skill areas
-
Current students with an English proficiency level equivalent to TOEFL ~70 (official or practice) or comparable Duolingo scores
-
Higher or moderately lower-level students may also be accommodated based on diagnostic results
-
At TAHS Online, students receive mock diagnostic tests modeled after both the Duolingo and new TOEFL formats, allowing them to accurately estimate current performance and set realistic score goals.
